The Sheridan volleyball team went 2-1 at the Clinton Prairie Invitational Saturday, Sept. 6.
The Blackhawks dropped their first match 26-24, 25-19 to Seeger. Lainey Mendenhall hit 13 kills, with Adria Jump hitting three. Both players served two aces, while Amiyah Doss and Meredith Krupp both hit one ace. Jump dished out 12 assists. Krupp collected 12 digs and Mendenhall had six digs and two block assists.
Sheridan rebounded to sweep Clinton Prairie 25-15, 27-25 in its second match. Mendenhall put down nine kills, while Jump spiked five. Kelsie Hagan and Amiyah Doss both hit three kills, while Beth Adams hit two and counted one ace among her 10 service points. Mendenhall also hit an ace.
Jump dished out 15 assists, while Krupp handed out eight assists. Jump also made 15 digs, with Krupp scooping up nine digs. Mendenhall collected five digs, followed by Eva Todd, Adams and Doss with four each. Doss also made a solo block.
The Blackhawks finished the day with a three-set win over Lafayette Jefferson, 25-20, 16-25, 15-11. Mendenhall hit 10 kills, with Jump dishing out 12 assists and hitting four kills. Doss had three kills, one solo block and one block assist, while Emily Will put down two kills. Krupp led the defense with 16 digs, followed by Jump with nine, Adam with eight, Mendenhall with seven and Kelsie Hagan with six. Mendenhall had two solo blocks and Jump had a block assist.
Sheridan is 5-3 and plays a Hoosier Heartland Conference match tonight at Taylor.

University won two Pioneer Athletic Academic Conference matches at Seton Catholic on Saturday, Sept. 6.
The Trailblazers swept Anderson Prep Academy 25-7, 25-6, 25-7 in their first match. Chloe Elkins put down five kills. University served 23 aces as a team, with Nyla Blanding hitting eight and Quinlan Litke serving six. Blanding also dished out 14 assists. Litke had six digs.
The Blazers toughed out a five-set match over the host Cardinals, 25-22, 25-16, 12-25, 12-25, 16-14. Stats were not available at press time.
University fell to Lawrence Central in straight sets Monday, 25-19, 25-22, 25-22. The Trailblazers are 3-0 in conference play and 3-9 overall; they host Faith Christian tonight.

Hamilton Southeastern played two matches at the Fort Wayne Carroll Invitational Saturday, Sept. 6.
The Royals swept Bellmont in their first match, 25-19, 25-20, 25-24. Madison Miles hit 10 kills, with Maye McConnell serving three aces. Jasmine Daniels provided 17 assists. McConnell also collected 18 digs.
Southeastern lost to the host Chargers in a sweep, 25-13, 25-20, 25-22. Miles led the offense with 11 kills, with Daniels sending out 16 assists. Miles also made seven digs.
The Royals are 9-1 and host Yorktown tonight.

Carmel went 1-2 at the Avon Classic Saturday, Sept. 6.
The Greyhounds fell to Tri-West 25-22, 25-14 and Floyd Central 25-20, 25-20, then came back to beat Seymour 16-25, 25-19, 15-11.
Carmel dropped another match to Tri-West on Monday, 28-26, 25-23, 25-22. The Greyhounds are 5-7 and host Zionsville tonight.
