Volleyball: Shamrocks win all-county match over Huskies

Westfield won a five-set all-county volleyball match with Hamilton Heights on Tuesday, 25-20, 11-25, 16-25, 25-20, 15-12.
Stats from the match were not available at press time. The Shamrocks are 10-12 and play at Fishers on Thursday to finish Hoosier Crossroads Conference play. The Huskies are 14-7 and host Sheridan on Thursday.
Fishers dropped a three-set match to Yorktown on Tuesday, 25-12, 25-21, 26-24. The Tigers are 17-5 for the season.

Noblesville dropped a tough five-set match to New Palestine Monday at The Mill, 25-18, 23-25, 25-21, 23-25, 15-13.
Ella Peter hit 14 kills and made five blocks for the Millers, while Maddie Coates served six aces. Diana Cox collected 23 digs, followed by Riley Branch and Ava Harris with 11 each and Ava Rundle with 10 digs. Branch handed out 35 assists.
Noblesville is 14-12 and plays at Brownsburg on Thursday for its HHC finale.

Sheridan dropped a four-set match to Hoosier Heartland Conference opponent Tri-Central on Monday, 21-25, 25-11, 25-19, 25-13.
The Blackhawks’ defense had a season-high 92 digs. Jacquellynne Bates collected 25 digs, followed by Taylor Bates with 22, Kenzie Garner with 18 and Nova Cross with 16.
Kaiden Wilson and Garner both hit seven kils, while Taylor Bates hit four and Cross had three. Taylor Bates and Jacquellynne Bates both served two aces. Cross handed out nine assists and Taylor Bates had four setting assists. Taylor Bates, Wilson and Cross all made one block assist.
Sheridan plays at Taylor today for its final HHC meet of the season.

Carmel fell to McCutcheon Tuesday in straight sets, 25-21, 25-22, 25-19.
Macarty McQueen hit nine kills for the Greyhounds, with Caroline Yuska and Ella Brooks putting down seven kills each. Ella Bostic served two aces, while Ella Brooks and Lauren Evans each hit one ace.
Bostic handed out 28 assists. Brooks made 11 digs, followed by Evans with 10, Bostic with eight and McQueen with five. Yuska had six blocks and McQueen made three blocks.
Carmel is 19-6 and hosts Kokomo on Thursday.

University fell to Danville in straight sets, 25-6, 25-4, 25-11 on Tuesday.
The Trailblazers play a Pioneer Conference game Thursday at Bethesda Christian.
