Volleyball: Shamrocks beat Tigers, Huskies take down Blackhawks, ‘Blazers & ‘Hounds win on Senior Night, Millers beat Bulldogs

The Westfield volleyball team won an all-county and Hoosier Crossroads Conference match over Fishers on Thursday, 16-25, 25-17, 25-19, 25-23.

Freshman Paige Rudolph led the way with 12 kills, eight digs, two aces and a 2.3 serve receive rating. Chloe Sutake and Carsyn Comer both hit 10 kills. Lilly Tucker served three aces, Stella Neale made 11 digs, and Lilly Stanton dished out 36 assists; Stanton reached her 1,000th career assist during the match.

Fishers stats were not available at press time.

Westfield completed its HCC season 2-5 and is 13-15 overall. The Shamrocks host Wapahani on Saturday for their regular-season finale. The Tigers finished conference play 3-4 and regular-season action 15-16. Fishers plays Noblesville next Thursday in the first round of Sectional 8 at Zionsville.

Hamilton Heights swept Sheridan 25-14, 25-9, 25-9 in a Thursday all-county game.

Trinity Parkin hit seven kills for the Blackhawks, followed by three for Kenzie Garner and two for Shelby Eaton. Nova Cross handed out nine assists.

Cross and Meredith Krupp both had six digs each, with Garner and Parkin collecting five each. Parkin had one solo block and one block assist, while Claudia Headlee had one block assist.

Heights stats were not available at press time.

The Huskies are 20-6 and play Monday at Park Tudor. Sheridan is 15-12 and completed its regular season with Thursday’s match. The ‘Hawks host Sectional 43 next week, and take on the Cascade-Park Tudor winner Oct. 14 in the semifinals.

University won a hard-fought, four-set Senior Night match over Bethesda Christian on Thursday, 27-25, 28-30, 25-20, 25-20.

Annabelle Simpson hit 15 kills for the Trailblazers, with Leyla Ercan hitting 10 kills. University had 42 kills as a team and served 13 aces as a team. Addy Pritchard made three blocks.

The ‘Blazers are 10-10 and play Saturday at Tri-Central.

Carmel also won a Senior Night match, sweeping Kokomo 25-5, 25-12, 25-22 on Thursday.

The Greyhounds are 10-16 and host their own Invitational on Saturday.

Noblesville picked up a four-set HCC win Thursday, beating Brownsburg 25-22, 21-25, 32-30, 25-18.

The Millers finished conference play 4-3 and are 20-7 overall. Noblesville plays Saturday at the Lawrence North Wildcat Invitational.

Hamilton Southeastern beat Franklin Central to clinch an undefeated HCC championship on Thursday. The score and stats were not available at press time.

The Royals finished conference play 7-0 and are 27-0 overall. They will play next Saturday, Oct. 14 at the Zionsville sectional.
