Volleyball: Carmel bounces back

The Carmel volleyball team bounced back from a tough Tuesday loss to sweep Lawrence Central in straight sets in a Wednesday Metropolitan Conference match.
The Greyhounds won 25-11, 25-1, 25-5. Kamryn Kichefski hit 10 kills and made one block, while Gabby Smith spiked six kills and served three aces. Macarty McQueen had nine aces along with four digs and three kills. Lexi Brehl served seven aces, also collecting seven digs and handing out two assists.
Ella Bostic dished out 20 assists, also getting four digs and two aces. Anne Lesure had 12 assists, four digs and two kills, while Kelise Twyner hit seven kills.

University swept Northpoint Homeschool in straight sets on Wednesday.
The ‘Blazers were winners by the score of 25-12, 25-15, 25-16. Senior Stella Behforouz led the team in kills, while junior Soren Rothernberg led in aces. Sophomore Jillian Sager was the leader in digs for UHS.
University hosts Danville at 7 p.m. tonight.

Westfield beat Perry Meridian in four sets on Wednesday.
The Shamrocks came back to win 22-25, 25-17, 25-16, 25-17. Westfield hosts Zionsville tonight for its first Hoosier Crossroads Conference match of the season.
