Virtual companion schools hold in-person prom

Indiana Connections Academy & Indiana Connections Career Academy celebrate teenage milestone together

Junior and senior students from Indiana Connections Academy, a tuition-free full-time public virtual school for students in grades K-12, and its companion school, Indiana Connections Career Academy, a tuition-free full-time public virtual school with a special emphasis on career readiness for students in grades 6 through 12, recently attended an in-person at the 502 East Event Centre in Carmel.

“Despite being 100 percent virtual, Indiana Connection Schools recognize the significance of in-person interactions in shaping students’ social skills and overall well-being,” said Kelly Simone, executive director of Indiana Connections Academy and Indiana Connections Career Academy. “The schools organize small and large social events throughout the academic year, culminating in the highly anticipated prom night.”

The junior and senior prom at Indiana Connection Schools blends tradition and innovation. While upholding classic elements such as prom court, formal attire, themed décor, photo booths and live DJ performances, what sets this prom apart is its steadfast commitment to inclusivity. Indiana Connection Schools’ prom provides an environment where all students engage with one another freely, dance and forge meaningful connections.

Interacting with other students is a big part of what makes attending Indiana Connections Academy and Indiana Connections Career Academy an enriching educational experience. In addition to meeting with peers in the virtual classroom, students can participate in in-person activities, clubs, and events. When available, each school offers in-person field trips, events, and service projects throughout the year.

Enrollment for Indiana Connections Academy and Indiana Connections Career Academy 2024-2025 school year is now underway for students in grades K through 12 and 6 through 12, respectively.
