The founders of Valor Classical Academy have announced the opening of enrollment for Hamilton County’s first classical charter school.
Lease negotiations are rapidly progressing for the school to open at 10330 N. Meridian St., Carmel. This property is easily accessible from Interstate 465, Meridian Street, and Illinois Street. On Sept. 5 the school will open its doors to students in K-6 and plans to add a grade each year through 12th grade.
“We’re committed to building relationships with the community to ensure that Valor is a positive addition to the area,” said Holly Wilson, the school’s founder. “We’re enriching the educational landscape in Hamilton County by introducing a new tuition-free, classical school choice. Given the remarkable interest in Valor’s enrollment, waitlists are expected. To secure a seat, we strongly encourage prospective families to apply right away during the Early Enrollment period.”
Valor’s Head of School David Wright added, “We seek to provide a time-tested, classical curriculum, such as cursive handwriting, the power of memorization, the joy of reading the great books and engaging in thoughtful discussions, and the mastery of persuasive writing and articulate speech. The school’s culture will be marked by order and discipline with an emphasis on the development of moral character and civic virtue. I want our students to develop into strong academic scholars and passionate citizens who positively impact their family and community.”
Early Enrollment is open until Wednesday, May 24, followed by Open Enrollment from Monday, May 29 to Oct. 6. Interested applicants can conveniently apply online at ValorClassicalAcademy.org. The school’s Enrollment Policy and Enrollment FAQs are also available on the website.
An Enrollment Information Session will be hosted by Mr. David Wright from 5 to 7 p.m. on Monday, May 22 at the Carmel Clay Public Library.
