Uplifting women, transforming lives

March is a time to recognize the strength, leadership, and impact of women as we celebrate International Women’s Month.

At Prevail, we see every day the power of women supporting and uplifting one another. Whether it’s a survivor reclaiming her voice, an advocate walking beside someone on their healing journey, or a community member creating opportunities for others to thrive.

This work is deeply personal to our mission. Eighty-seven percent of the survivors served by Prevail are women, and the need in Indiana remains significant. Indiana ranks fifth in the nation for domestic violence, with 42.5 percent of women experiencing domestic violence in their lifetime, and three in five Hoosier women experiencing sexual assault during their lifetime.

These numbers remind us why empowerment and support matter so deeply. When survivors are believed, supported, and connected to resources, they are able to rebuild their lives and reclaim their futures.

This month, we are proud to highlight seven remarkable women through our Empowered Women, Empowering Women campaign. Each of these women represents the strength, compassion, and leadership that helps build safer and more supportive communities.

You can be part of this celebration. Consider making a gift in honor of a woman who has empowered or inspired you. When you do, we will let her know that a gift was made in her honor, recognizing the impact she has had in your life while also supporting survivors in our community.

Together, we can continue to uplift the voices, strength, and resilience of women everywhere.
