The University cross country teams hosted their own invitational on Monday.
The Trailblazers girls team won its division, scoring 34 points. Herron was second with 38 and Indy Genesis placed third with 49 points.
Jada Swearingen led University by taking third in a time of 22:15. Charlotte Kumler was fourth in 22:42. Other Trailblazers runners were Chloe Kaplan (sixth, 23:42), Zoe Napier (eighth, 25:25), Isabella Garino-Heisey (13th, 26:04), Jolin Xu (15th, 26:08) and Sam Cooper (24th, 31:36).
In the boys race, the Trailblazers’ Noah Laramore won the individual competition, clocking in with a time of 16:40. Other University runners were Isaiah Smith (seventh, 18:16), Thomas Price (12th, 19:12), Lucca Conti (20th, 20:22), Foster Wilson (30th, 21:09), Ben Pollack-Milgate (34th, 21:14), Tommy Kaplan (35th, 21:33), Alfonzo Gallanosa (48th, 25:50) and Josiah Hughes (50th, 26:26).
Herron won the boys’ team title; both the Achaeans and Liberty Christian scored 44 points, but Herron won on the tiebreaker. University placed third with 59 points, followed by Eminence 107, Purdue Polytechnic 129 and Indy Genesis 132.
