The annual holiday decorating of the historic cemetery and military library/museum will take place from 10 a.m. to noon today, Nov. 18. Come join the fun and help Home Place usher in the holidays.
Begin at the cemetery on 106th Street just west of College Avenue. Parking is available south of the Hensel Government Center. Also, from 10 to 11 a.m., specific grave sites within the cemetery will be pointed out along with what makes them noteworthy.
When decorating at the cemetery is finished, volunteers will move on to the Military Library/Museum at 10801 N. College Ave. to decorate there, and finish with free light refreshments and good conversation.
Then, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. (or later) on Sunday, Nov. 19, the tiny Clay Township Military Library/Museum, 10801 College Ave., will be open to the public for free tours and chats with veterans. Come and enjoy good conversation and a bit of history of the Home of the Free Because of the Brave.
