Indiana Attorney General (AG) Todd Rokita was the keynote speaker at the Tipton County Lincoln Day Dinner on Thursday, March 19 at the Tipton County Fairgrounds, 1200 S. Main St.
Rokita gave the audience some insight into how the AG’s office operates and some of the less public-facing responsibilities that fall under his purview. Regarding the election, he noted that candidates deserve your inspection and they deserve your ear. He reminded candidates that the people want to know what’s in candidates’ hearts and on their minds, but more importantly, they want candidates who do what they say they will. Rokita’s address earned him two separate standing ovations.
This is an interesting year in Tipton, with multiple contested races in the upcoming May 5 Primary Election. The Lincoln Day dinner provided an opportunity for candidates to briefly explain their platforms to those in attendance.
AG Rokita reminded candidates that, regardless of their individual platforms, the Republican candidates who do not win in May need to have the professionalism to throw their full support behind the candidates who do win in the Primary.
