Representatives of the Tipton FFA/4-H Livestock Judging Team participated in the East Central Regional Livestock Contest earlier this month at the Hancock County Fairgrounds.

Livestock evaluation consists of carefully analyzing animals and measuring them against a standard that is commonly accepted as being ideal. Team members evaluated a total of seven classes of sheep, goats, swine, and cattle and provided oral reasons for two to three of the classes.

The senior FFA team consisting of Maggie Cline, Mason Tice, and Dylan Achenbach placed seventh. Individually, Achenbach placed fifth in the senior division. Tipton Junior team members included Caroline Rodibaugh, Eli Ripberger, and Corbin Geiger. The senior team advances to the State Livestock Evaluation Career Development event on May 2 at the Boone County Fairgrounds. Thank you to Bryan Cline and Jason Shuck for giving of their time and efforts to lead the livestock team this year.
