Tigers win hard-fought battle with Wildcats

Fishers picked up its fourth straight victory on Tuesday by winning a hard-fought 55-52 game at Lawrence North.
The Wildcats led 18-15 after the first quarter and 28-26 at halftime. Alycia Triplett scored six points for the Tigers, who are ranked No. 8 in the IGCSA Class 4A and IBCA one-class polls, during the first period. Fishers then took over in the third period, outscoring LN 16-3. Olivia Smith scored six points in the third while Hailey Smith had five. Free-throw shooting was key, as Hailey Smith was 3-of-3 from the line and Olivia Smith was 2-of-2.
With that, the Tigers led 42-31 going into the fourth quarter. The Wildcats poured in 21 points during the final period, but Fishers was able to hold Lawrence North off.
Triplett finished the game with 12 points, while both Hailey Smith and Olivia Smith contributed 10 points each.
The Tigers are 17-4 and play at Franklin Central Friday in a Hoosier Crossroads Conference girls-boys doubleheader. That game will be the conference and regular-season finale for Fishers.
