Tigers sweep at Franklin Central

The Fishers basketball teams scored a convincing sweep of a Hoosier Crossroads Conference girls/boys doubleheader Friday at Franklin Central.
The Tigers girls played first, and they blasted their way to a 54-25 victory, finishing up an undefeated HCC season at 7-0. Fishers, ranked No. 8 in the ICGSA Class 4A and IBCA one-poll rankings, was in control from the start, leading 18-3 after one quarter and 34-12 at halftime. Alycia Triplett dominated the first half, pouring in 11 points. The Tigers outscored FC in each quarter.
Triplett finished the game as the leading scorer with 13 points. Nine different Tigers players scored, with Ava Carter adding eight points. Joirdyn Smith and Allison Scheu each hit two 3-pointers during the game.
The Fishers boys were equally impressive in their 73-45 win over Franklin Central. The Tigers, ranked No. 2 in the Associated Press Class 4A and IBCA one-class polls, led 18-10 after the first quarter, then turned up the offense even more in the second period, scoring 26 points to take a 44-25 halftime lead. Jeffrey Simmons scored 15 points in the first half, with Jalen Haralson adding 12 points.
Just like the girls, the boys outscored the Flashes in each quarter. Haralson led with 18 points, while Simmons added 17 points. Ten different Fishers players scored; Matt Brewer and Sean Millsaps both contributed eight points, with Millsaps draining a pair of 3s.
The Fishers girls completed the regular season with this game, and are 18-4 overall. The Tigers will play Hamilton Southeastern Tuesday in the first game of the Westfield sectional.
Meanwhile, the Fishers boys stayed perfect in the conference at 4-0 and are 15-2 overall. The Tigers return home on Thursday to play another HCC game against Westfield.
