Fishers opened play in Class 6A Sectional 3 Friday night with a 42-14 victory at Homestead.
The Tigers were led by an outstanding performance from Khobie Martin. The senior ran for five touchdowns, beginning with a five-yard TD run in the first quarter. He then zoomed into the end zone from 40 yards in the second period. A Caden Hill two-point run made the halftime score 15-7.
Martin dominated the third quarter, making three more touchdown runs. Martin scored from all over the field, dashing into the end zone from 15, 32 and four yards. He finished the game with 205 yards rushing.
Ryan Thembulembu added a fourth-quarter touchdown, this on a five-yard run. Jonathan Tangara made four extra-point kicks. Quarterback Bennett Gorak went 11-of-15 for 89 yards, dividing his complete passes between JonAnthony Hall (six receptions) and Joe Syrus (five receptions).
Jake Prewitt led the Fishers defense with seven tackles, while Carter Imes and Brady Wolf both had six catches, including one sack. Imes made an interception and forced a fumble.
The Tigers are 7-3 and play the Sectional 3 championship next Friday at Hamilton Southeastern.
