The Fishers boys basketball team got off to the best start possible at its first-ever Holiday Tournament on Thursday.
The Class 4A No. 1 Tigers blasted through Bloomington North 94-48. Fishers led 22-15 after one quarter and 48-29 at halftime, then completely dominated the third period by outscoring the Panthers 29-6.
Seven Tigers players reached double figures in scoring. Justin Kirby had 17 points, while Keenan Garner scored 15. Cooper Zachary and Jason Gardner Jr. each had 12 points, Taden Metzger (who made three 3-pointers) and Nathan Baker both added 11 and JonAnthony Hall scored 10.
Fishers is 9-0 and plays Portage at 12:15 p.m. in the semifinals of the tournament, with another game to be played later that day.
