Three Hamilton County sophomore divers finished in the top eight of the Homestead boys diving regional on Tuesday, thus qualifying for the state meet.
Fishers’ William Jansen scored 477.80 points to place second, with Hamilton Southeastern’s A.J. Ricafort finishing third with 444.65 points. Another Tigers diver, Sebastian Otero, placed fifth with 414.05 points.
Delta junior Sam Bennett won the meet by a large margin, scoring 573.65 points.
Carmel senior John Curcio finished 10th with 361.80 points, while Westfield junior Ben Hobson was 15th with 224.00 points.
The state-qualifying divers will compete in the preliminaries, which begin at 9 a.m. Saturday at the IU Natatorium. The semi-finals will follow immediately after the prelims, with the finals that afternoon during the swimming state finals.
