The Indiana Girls Lacrosse Association presented its season awards after the Class 2A girls state championship game Saturday at Heritage Christian.
Hamilton County was well-represented. Three local players were among the six that were honored as United States Lacrosse All-Americans: Hamilton Southeastern’s Samantha Borgert, Carmel’s Tori Tomalia and Guerin Catholic’s Ella Bellflower. Those three players joined Heritage Christian’s Elise Latham, Bishop Chatard’s Ruby Mason and Cathedral’s Mary Katherine Bedich on the All-American list. In addition, Bellflower and Lathan were named to the USL’s All-Academic Team.
The INGLA also honored its All-State players. Borgert, Tomalia and Bellflower were all named to the Class 2A All-State list, along with Carmel’s Hollis Rang and Guerin Catholic’s Ruth Abdalla. Three Westfield players were named to the Class 1A All-State team: Sam Smith, Lauren Dean and Molly O’Brien.
