Tennis: Carmel takes down Noblesville, University prevails over International

In a Monday all-county tennis match, Carmel beat Noblesville 3-2 at the Millers’ tennis complex.

The Greyhounds swept both doubles matches, with No. 1 Addison Joyce and Gabby Hall beating Lina Hamashuk and Cami Crist 7-6 (5), 6-4 and No. 2 Sydney Carroll and Brylie Price winning 7-5, 6-2 over Jayde Stamm and Ava Shoemaker. Grace Kim beat Josie Flinchum 6-1, 6-4 at No. 3 singles.

Noblesville’s victories came from No. 1 singles Bella Duncan (6-1, 6-3 over Nora Perkins) and No. 2 singles Allie Stamm (3-6, 6-2, 10-7 over Manogna Pagadala).

Both teams play another all-county match tonight: Carmel hosts Hamilton Southeastern and the Millers welcome Guerin Catholic.

University beat International 5-0 in a Monday dual meet.

No. 1 singles Laurel Buttrick was a 6-0, 6-1 winner, while No. 2 singles Duygu Arseven and No. 3 singles Anisha Patel both won their matches 6-0, 6-0. The Trailblazers won both doubles matches by walkover, as the Gryphons did not field doubles teams.

University plays Greenwood Christian on Thursday.
