Swimming: Royals sweep Bloomington South Invitational

The Hamilton Southeastern swim teams swept the Bloomington South Holiday Invitational on Saturday.
The Royals boys team turned in perhaps its best overall meet of the year on the final day of its three-day travel trip. The theme of the day was grit – racing longer events on their third straight day of competition, the attitude and effort was great all morning. Nathan Barr won diving, Connor Harrison won the 50 and 200 butterfly races, DJ Rogers won the 50 freestyle, and the Royals won the 200 medley and 200 free relays. Other great performances included Evan Sellers in the 1000 free; Andrew Christopher in the 50 butterfly; Blake Ratliff and Keegan Streett in the 400 individual medley; Ethan Christopher, Cam Knurek, and Collin Matasovsky in the 200 butterfly, Andrew Ratliff in the 50 backstroke, John Kirby in the 200 breaststroke, and Keegan Streett and Thomas Reising in the 100 butterfly.
In the girls race, Southeastern brought tremendous energy to their third straight day of racing and were victorious at the Bloomington South Holiday Invite. Sarah Ballard led a 1-2-3-4 sweep of diving with Halli Siwik, Ashley Sinicropi, and Courtney Broyles; Madison Kertin and Victoria Vicory went 1-2 in the 50 breaststroke; Kayleigh Witt, Emily Barnes, Mo Pedersen, and Bri Saple swept the 200 free; Hannah Pugh won the 50 butterfly; Abby Harter won the 50 backstroke; Emily Barnes won the 50 freestyle; and the Royals won the 200 medley and 200 free relays. Other great performances came from Madison Rossillo and Lauren Passios in the 1000 free; Abby Harter in the 200 backstroke and 100 IM; Madison Kertin and Da Bin Jung in the 200 butterfly; and Ellie Pedersen in the 100 IM.

Fishers girls remain undefeated

The Fishers girls swim team won a dual meet with Sacred Heart Academy 168-144 on Saturday, bringing its season record to 5-0.
Race winners included sophomore Abby Jahns in the 200 and 500 freestyles and senior Amilia Nusbaum in the 100 free. Winning relay swimmers included Nusbaum, sophomore Ellen Fero, junior Miya Wai and sophomore Hannah Pratt in the 200 free Relay and Nusbaum, junior Morgan Booth, Jahns and Pratt in the 400 Free Relay. On the diving side, freshman Morgan Casey took the top honors.
