Swimming: Millers score sweep of Lawrence North

The Noblesville swim teams swept Lawrence North in a Tuesday dual meet at the Millers’ Natatorium.
The Noblesville girls won 135-45, while the Miller boys triumphed 110-75. Noblesville won all six relay and 11 individual events. Individual winners were: Jack Wolfred in the 200 and 100 freestyles, Sammy Huff in the individual medley and 100 free, Caitlin Marshall in the 50 free and butterfly, Deirdre Lieb in diving, Evan Diamente in the butterfly, Tina Berger in the 500 free, Cameroon Kramer in the backstroke, and Abby Harvey in the breaststroke.
The Millers are back in action at their home pool this Saturday in the eight-team Noblesville Invitational.

Royals win county dual over ‘Rocks

The Hamilton Southeastern swim team swept a dual meet with Westfield on Tuesday.
The Royals girls team won 116-70. Southeastern won seven events, starting with Abby Harter in the individual medley. Also picking up victories were Emily Barnes in the 50 freestyle, Halli Siwik in diving, Kayleigh Witt in the 100 free, Sydney Miller in the 500 free, Victoria Vicory in the breaststroke, and the 200 freestyle relay team of Harter, Molly Pedersen, Emily Pedersen and Madison Kertin.
The Shamrocks got a double win out of Erin Verbrugge, who paced the 200 free and backstroke events. Katie Hand was first in the butterfly. Westfield won the other two relays: Molly Ruggles, Verburgge, Hand and Lily Hunter started the meet with a medley relay win, and Verbrugge, Hand, Kerry Effinger and Hunter finished the meet with a 400 free relay triumph.
In the boys meet, Southeastern won 122-64. The Royals won eight events; Connor Harrison was a double winner in the IM and the butterfly. Blake Ratliff placed first in the 200 free, Nathan Barr won diving, Marcus Eden paced the 500 free and Andrew Ratliff triumphed in the backstroke. Southeastern won the medley relay with Ethan Forbes, Andrew Truxall, Harrison and Thomas Reising, and the 400 free relay with Blake Ratliff, Eden, Evan Sellers and DJ Rogers.
As for the ‘Rocks, Chris Kenney was a double winner in the 50 and 100 freestyles. Cameron Clayton was first in the breaststroke, and both swimmers teamed with Cody Fenimore and Brett Calvin to win the 200 free relay.

Fishers sweeps Zionsville

The Fishers swim teams swept Zionsville in a Tuesday dual meet.
The Tiger girls won 116-70. Event winners were Corinne Yorkman in the individual medley, Amilia Nusbaum in the butterfly, Ellen Fero in the 100 freestyle, Hannah Pratt in the 500 free, Miya Wai in the breaststroke and Grace Mossing in diving. In the relays, Fero, Abby Jahns, Kylie Terpening and Nusmbaum were first in the 200 free relay, while Wai, Hannah Pratt, Fero and Kyla Srncik won the 400 free relay.
Fishers’ boys team won 97-89. Kyle Haflich took the IM, Drake Stallworth paced the butterfly, Aaron Frollo won the 500 free and Cole Vandevender was first in diving.

Carmel swimmers open season with wins

The Carmel swim team began its season with a sweep of North Central on Tuesday.
The girls won 147-39, taking all 12 events. Kendra Bowen was a double winner in the 200 and 500 freestyles, with Alyssa Conley also winning twice, in the 50 and 100 freestyles.
Also picking up victories were Ashlyn Underhill in the individual medley, Alaina Heyde in diving, Hannah White in the butterfly, Colleen Duffy in the backstroke, Sarah Jarding in the breaststroke and all three relays.
Carmel’s boys won 133-52, taking 10 events. Jota Iwase won twice, in the IM and the butterfly. Also victorious for the Greyhounds: Jacob Green in the 200 free, Wyatt Davis in the 50 free, Alec DeLong in the 100 free, Augustus Rothrock in the 500 free, Drew Amaral in the backstroke and all three relays.
