Susan Jane Smith, 74, Noblesville, passed away on February 17, 2021 at her home in Noblesville. She was born on January 23, 1947 to Richard and Agnes (Ammerman) Roberts in Noblesville.
Susan completed dental technician training with honors and worked at Riverview Hospital in Noblesville as a Candy Striper prior to marrying Donald Smith, her husband of 32 years. She enjoyed traveling in the United States, camping with her family, gardening, hosting holiday dinners for family and friends and giving advice for those in need. She was a seasoned cook and liked to experiment with recipes to make them her own. Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.
She is survived by her son, Jeffrey (Jennifer) Robinette; her grandchildren, Elizabeth, Emily, Michael, and Abigail Robinette; her sister, Linda Slayten, Plainfield; her brother, David Roberts, Noblesville; and her husband’s children, Brenda (Mark Hadley) Gerkin, Gary (Elizabeth) Smith, Mark (Jo Ann Harris) Smith; and their grandchildren, Bryan Riddle, Amy Bryant, Joshua Smith, Jacob Smith, Jedidiah Smith, and Andrea Smith; and several great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband and their grandson, Spencer Smith.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 1 p.m. on Monday August 16, 2021 at Randall & Roberts Funeral Home, 1150 Logan St., Noblesville. The visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to the time of service at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, gifts can be made in Susan’s memory to the Courtney Cox Cole Infusion Center, 395 Westfield Road, Noblesville, IN 46060, where the gracious staff and nurses always met her with cheerful smiles.
