The holiday season is about to get merrier with the Grace Care Center’s Christmas Store, and we’re calling on our community to come together to make it truly special for families in need. Here’s what you can do to spread joy.
What’s needed most?
The most popular items for the Christmas Store are toys and gifts for children. However, we also understand that many families have teenagers in the household. To ensure a thoughtful gift for a teenager, we recommend purchasing a Thrift Store Gift Card, which can be purchased in increments of $10. This gift card empowers teenagers to choose clothing or household goods that they truly need.
How can you make a difference?
There are two key ways to support the Christmas Store and make a difference in the lives of families in need.
1) ‘Purchase’ specific gifts.
You can ‘purchase’ (i.e., donate money for) specific gifts in our online store. Our Care Center staff will use these donations to buy the items, which will be given away at the in-person shopping experience in December. This ensures that your generosity directly impacts the children and families we serve.
2) Donate money with ‘Shop for Me.’
The ‘Shop for Me’ item in our online store allows you to donate money in increments of $10, $50, or $100. These funds will be used to purchase the most needed items for the Christmas Store. It’s a hassle-free and effective way to support the cause.
Can I simply donate money? Absolutely! If you prefer to make a monetary donation, the ‘Shop for Me’ item in the online store is the best way to do so. You can choose to donate in increments of $10, $50, or $100, and these funds will be utilized to purchase gifts that will fill the store with warmth and joy.
Do I have to purchase gifts myself? No need to worry about shopping for specific gifts. The online store is a platform for donating money to support the Christmas Store. You’re making a meaningful contribution that allows our Care Center staff to select and purchase the exact items that families in need will have the pleasure of choosing during the in-person shopping experience.
Our choice shopping experience
What sets the Grace Care Center’s Christmas Store apart is its “choice” shopping experience. Unlike traditional charitable efforts where families receive pre-selected gifts, the Christmas Store empowers families in need to make their own selections.
Families who have made advance shopping reservations can visit the store and hand-pick gifts for their loved ones. This approach not only fosters a sense of dignity but also allows families to select items that resonate with their personal preferences, ensuring that the gifts are meaningful and cherished.
