Storm system could bring flooding to Hamilton County

A series of weather systems is expected to bring rain to Hamilton County through Thursday night. A total of 1 to 3 inches of rain will be possible with higher amounts in localized areas.

This will likely result in river and stream flooding, as well as flooding of some fields and roads.

The National Weather Service in Indianapolis has issued the following information:

  • Flood Watch for portions of Central Indiana (which includes Hamilton County), East Central Indiana, South Central Indiana, Southeast Indiana, Southwest Indiana, and West Central Indiana.
  • 1 to 3 inches of rain are expected through Friday morning.
  • River flooding will be likely. Standing water in fields and along some area roads will be possible. This may result in driving difficulties or even possible road closures.
