Student Impact, founded in 1999, is a faith-based organization that provides a safe and loving space to Westfield students in grades 5 through 12 at no cost to the student or family.

And they need our help.

“SI” students are provided with a healthy after-school snack and a Wednesday morning breakfast. They come after school to “The Rock,” a transformed two-story building near the high school and middle school, and spend time doing homework, playing games, and enjoying fellowship. For some, they may not have anywhere else to go.

Like many organizations, the stress of the pandemic caused shifts and additional demands on SI. They saw the student numbers they were serving jump nearly 100 students weekly.

Established in 2010, Compass Commercial Construction Group is a construction management firm specializing in Design-Build projects throughout central Indiana.

Compass has built a culture of community involvement and giving back. It looks for ways to invest in mental health and wellness; education and youth empowerment; and community building and revitalization. The firm believes in building authentic relationships, serving the community with integrity, and promoting opportunities to grow, lead, and thrive in central Indiana.

Compass’s mission and the mission of SI are well aligned.

The demand has grown, and the time has come, for SI to expand. As a 501(c)(3), SI relies on gifts, donations, and grants to carry out its work and to fund this upcoming expansion project. Compass is serving as general contractor and project manager as well as donating overhead and profit in-kind.

Please join us. Help and participation is still needed for multiple trades:

  • HVAC
  • Electrical
  • Cabinetry
  • Drywall and Framing

We are calling on companies that want to participate to reach out to us and help in the cause. You can contact Eric Gelatt, Compass Sr. Preconstruction Manager (and Westfield resident) for additional information on the project and ways you can help by emailing egelatt@compassccg.com or calling (317) 385-0108.

Financial donations to support the project can also be made to Student Impact by contacting Danyele Easterhaus by emailing danyele@therockwestfield.org. You can learn more at TheRockWestfield.org/building-expansion.

Together, let’s make a safe and proven place for Westfield students to share, create, and grow.
