Braden
My name is Stephanie Braden, and I’m excited to share that I’m running for the Hamilton Southeastern School Board in District 4.
I have been a Fishers resident for over a decade and I love our community. Career-wise, I have spent over 16 years working as a registered nurse, caring for patients and families, and promoting health, wellness, and education. As a Charge Nurse, I’ve led teams, coordinated care, mentored staff, and worked together with others to get the best results, even in busy and challenging situations.
I am actively a proud member of the United States Army Reserve and have been serving for over two and half decades now, holding numerous leadership positions throughout my military career. These experiences have strengthened my commitment to service, accountability, teamwork, and leading with integrity.
Service to others has always been an important part of who I am. Throughout the years, I have actively volunteered within our community and church, including educating women on healthy behaviors and health promotion for mothers and babies. I have volunteered as an elementary school math tutor, served as a room parent, and supported classrooms and school activities as a parent volunteer. These experiences have allowed me to work directly with students, teachers, and families while deepening my appreciation for the vital role our schools play in shaping future generations.
As a mother of five children who have attended Hamilton Southeastern Schools, I have experienced firsthand the value of a strong public education. Three of my children have graduated from HSE schools and are excelling in their chosen paths, including one who recently earned an engineering degree and another who is serving as a cadet at West Point. My two younger children continue to thrive within HSE schools. Our family’s experience reflects why it is so important to retain and recruit outstanding educators and welcome new families who want their children to attend HSE schools. Strong teacher support and community investment are essential to maintaining the academic excellence that attracts families to our district and strengthens our public school system.
I believe strong public schools are essential to preparing the future leaders, innovators, and problem-solvers of tomorrow. Strong leadership is not siloed. The best decisions are made by reviewing diverse perspectives and working together collaboratively toward a common goal. Our community is made up of families, students, educators, staff, taxpayers, and community leaders, all of whom bring valuable experiences to the table. My leadership is guided by traditional values of integrity, personal responsibility, respect, service, accountability, and a strong work ethic. Our community deserves transparent and honest leadership that values diverse perspectives, seeks common ground, and remains focused on what is best for students. I am committed to supporting academic excellence, investing in our public schools, fiscal responsibility, empowering our educators, and ensuring every student has the opportunity to succeed.
I would be honored to earn your support and serve our community as a member of the Hamilton Southeastern School Board.
