The Indiana Department of Transportation announces that Phase 1 of the State Road 47 Reconstruction Project in Sheridan is set to begin on or after Monday, March 23.

During the first phase of construction, SR 47 will be closed between Hamilton/Boone County Line Road and Westco Parkway. This closure is scheduled to remain in place for approximately one month.

Sections of SR 47 are scheduled to be closed through the middle of 2027, as crews work to reconstruct the road between the Hamilton/Boone county line and State Road 38. You can learn more about the SR 47 Reconstruction Project here.

During Phase 1, drivers are encouraged to follow the official detour of SR 38 and U.S. 421. Access for local traffic will be maintained throughout construction.

INDOT reminds drivers to slow down, avoid distractions, and use extra caution while traveling in and around work zones. All work is weather-dependent, and schedules are subject to change.
