November 11, 1951 – May 16, 2022

Stanley William Fitzgerald (Stan), 70, passed away on Monday, May 16, 2022, at his home with his family and friends by his side. Stanley was born on November 11, 1951, in Indianapolis to Joseph D. and Ruth E. (Hughes) Fitzgerald who preceded him in death. Stanley attended St. Andrew Catholic School, Scecina High School in Indianapolis, and Carmel High School Class of 1969.

Stanley is survived by his fiancée, Linda Schneider; his two children, Shayre Rivotto and Bryce Fitzgerald; and his four grandchildren, Nicholas, Trai, Mason, and Maxwell. Stanley deeply loved and influenced his family and everyone who was close to him.

Stanley began his career with Indiana Bell in 1970, which later became AT&T, where he continued working for over 40 years and eventually retired. He was a deeply religious Christian and lovingly passed his faith on to others. His faith supported him throughout his life, which he experienced to the fullest.

Stanley loved the outdoors and was an avid hunter, boater, photographer, and traveler. He earned his pilot’s license in the 1980s and spent many summers flying and attending air shows. After retirement he loved spending time on his boat in New Buffalo, Mich., where he had many friends. He was also a proud member of the United States Coast Guard Auxiliary where he volunteered many hours to help keep the waters safe. He loved his country and was a true patriot.

Chandler Funeral Home of Ellettsville, Ind., is assisting the family with arrangements. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 4, 2022, to celebrate the life of Stanley. Share condolences, memories and more with Stanley’s family by visiting his tribute page at chandlerfh.com.
