The 2023 Cicero Labor Day Car Show was the biggest one yet, both in number of cars entered and in number of attendees. While our friendly neighborhood weatherman did not send any rain to mess with the festivities, a cool breeze would have been welcome . . . we’re talking to you, Paul Poteet.
No amount of heat and humidity was enough to dampen Labor Day spirits at Red Bridge Park on the shores of Morse Reservoir. Cars were shown. Pork chops on sticks were consumed. Volunteers were volunteering. And in the air-conditioned community center, among many other vendors, one Husky fan was bold enough to sell sweatshirts.
This car show had a little something for everyone, from baby Yoda with an A&W mug (strangely the mug was neither frosty nor filled with root beer), to a Smokey & the Bandit Pontiac, and even one unexpected Gremlin. If nothing in these photos catch your fancy, we suggest you go jump in a lake!
