Hamilton Southeastern’s girls got a nice win for their Senior Night game, beating Lawrence North 77-62 in a Tuesday home contest.
The Class 4A No. 6 Royals got off to a fast start, leading by nine points three minutes into the game. Southeastern finished the first quarter up 18-11, then led 40-32 at halftime. The Wildkats made a run in the second half, and got within 48-46 midway through the third period. But the Royals came back to lead 57-50 by the end of the quarter, and clinched the game with 20 points in the fourth.
“The team did a nice job of moving the ball and taking what the defense gave us tonight,” said HSE coach Brian Satterfield.
Riley Makalusky led a parade of four Southeastern scorers in double digits, pouring in 25 points. Maya Makalusky added 19 points, followed by 12 for Olivia Brown and 11 for Teegan Acres. Maya Makalusky had three 3-pointers. Riley Makalusky led the rebounds with eight, with Acres collecting five. Brown dished out four assists.
The Royals are 18-2 and travel to Zionsville on Friday for its Hoosier Crossroads Conference finale.
