Fishers split a doubleheader with Chesterton on Saturday.
The Tigers dropped the first game 5-4. After trailing 2-0, Fishers scored four runs in the sixth inning to take the lead, but the Trojans scored three in the seventh to claim the win.
Courtney James got the Tigers on the board with a solo home run to left field. Olivia Stenson got on base with a double, Brooke Benson was hit by a pitch, and Hannah Mays scored everyone with a right field homer. Olivia Latimer also hit a double. Mays pitched a complete game, striking out eight.
Fishers won a wild second game 14-12. Chesterton scored all of its runs in the first four innings, but the Tigers pulled ahead with three runs in the seventh. Trailing 12-11, Jade Frye hit a sacrifice fly to score Maggie Webber, which tied the game. Benson then smashed a home run into centerfield, scoring her and James and giving Fishers the victory.
The Tigers started with four runs in the first inning. Benson singled home James, then Mays hit a double to score Frye. Latimer’s line drive brought in Benson, then Mays scored on a fielder’s choice by Caroline Bernhardt.
The Trojans led 9-4 in the bottom of the third. Fishers cut the lead to 9-7; Mays batted in Benson, who got on base with a double, then Bernhardt’s double scored Mays and Latimer.
Chesterton jumped ahead again, going up 12-7 in the top of the fourth. Benson smacked a two-run homer in the bottom of the inning, also sending Frye home. The Tigers added two more runs in the sixth inning, with Latimer hitting a double to score Benson, then later getting home on a wild pitch.
Benson and Mays were both 4-for-4 at the plate, with Benson totaling five RBIs. Latimer and Bernhardt both had two hits. Mays got the pitching win.
Fishers is 9-3 and plays Tuesday at Avon.

Millers go 1-1 at their invitational
Noblesville split its two games at its own invitational on Saturday.
The Millers won their first game, 14-4 over New Castle in five innings. Noblesville had 12 hits, including two home runs: Ella White smacked a three-run homer in the first inning, then Chloe Tragesser hit a two-run home run in the fourth inning.
White totaled five RBIs for the game and was one of four players with two hits. Myah Stuckey, Emily Minett and Abigail Harvey also had two hits. Baily Ryan pitched three innings for the win.
The Millers dropped their second game to Plainfield 6-3. Noblesville scored a run in the fifth inning, when Kira Thomas got home on error. In the sixth inning, Rylie Moore singled in White and Minett scored on error. Both White and Moore had two hits.
The Millers are 7-5 and play Monday at Mount Vernon.

HSE overwhelms Bloomington North
Hamilton Southeastern overwhelmed Bloomington North 11-1 in five innings on Saturday.
The Cougars scored their run in the first inning, but the Royals tied it up in the second inning when Libby Ratliff batted in Kaelin Wincek. Southeastern added six runs in the fourth inning, including a grand slam from Nicole Lang.
Lang, Ava Aguilar, Wincek and Olivia Capuano all had three hits, with Abby Taylor getting two hits. Aguilar hit a two-RBI triple in the fifth inning, while Capuano hit two doubles. Olivia Bucher pitched four innings for the win, allowing only two hits.
The Royals are 7-5 and play Tuesday at Noblesville.
