Softball: Tigers drop home game to Arabians

Fishers dropped a 10-5 game to Pendleton Heights Wednesday at the Tigers’ field.
The Arabians led 5-1 after six innings and scored five runs in the top of the seventh. The Tigers came back with four runs in the bottom of the seventh.
Brooke Benson hit a two-run double for Fishers, while Olivia Stinson scored two runs. Hannah Mays pitched five and two-thirds innings, striking out seven.
The Tigers are 12-9 and hosts Anderson at 5:30 p.m. today.

Royals edged by Franklin Central

Hamilton Southeastern dropped a Hoosier Crossroads Conference game at Franklin Central Tuesday, by the score of 6-5.
Ella Lewis and Nicole Lang both hit a home run for the Royals, one of two hits for Lang, who totaled two RBI for the game.
Southeastern finished conference play 3-4 and is 11-9 overall. The Royals will play at 6 p.m. tonight at Ben Davis.

Millers finish conference play with split of last two games

Noblesville finished up Hoosier Crossroads Conference play with a split this week.
The Millers beat Zionsville Tuesday, 12-1 in five-inning away game. Ella White went 2-for-4, hitting a home run and a double. She totaled four RBI for the game. Abby Brown and Emily Minett both had two hits, with Minett and Chloe Tragesser both getting a double. Maddie Taylor pitched three innings for the win.
On Wednesday, Noblesville played a doubleheader at Avon. The first game counted as the HCC game, which the Orioles won 8-6.
White was 3-for-4 at the plate in the first game, with a triple and two doubles. Taylor, Minett, Abigail Harvey and Tragesser all had two hits, with Tragesser and Rylie Moore both hitting a double.
Noblesville beat Avon 6-3 in eight innings in the second game. White broke a 3-3 tie in the top of the eighth inning by driving home a three-run double.
White finished the game 3-for-5 at the plate, batting in four runs. Brown, Tragesser and Scout Duplaga all had two hits. Taylor got the win, pitching all eight innings.
Noblesville finished HCC play 3-4 and is 14-8 overall.

Huskies beat Heritage Christian, lose tough game to Frankfort

Hamilton Heights split two road games to start the week.
On Tuesday, the Huskies beat Heritage Christian 7-0. Heights got on the board in the first inning, when Hayley Greene knocked out a two-run home run. Alayna Baber also scored.
In the third inning, Kelsie Albright scored when Greene reached on error. Adyson Baber then doubled in Greene; then singled Greene home in the fifth inning. Belle Neiling scored in the sixth inning on Faith Hittle’s RBI groundout, then Meredith Diller doubled home Sydney Massicotte.
Greene, Adyson Baber and Diller all had two hits. Adyson Baber pitched a complete game, tossing eight strikeouts and allowing only one hit.
The Huskies traveled to Frankfort on Wednesday, and lost a tough game 5-4 in eight innings.
The Hot Dogs led 4-0 after five innings. Heights got on the board in the sixth when Hailey Montgomery scored after Ashlyn Fletcher reached on error. Belle Neiling tied the game for the Huskies in the seventh inning when she cracked a three-run double, sending Kylie Wooldridge, Greene and Adyson Baber. But Frankfort got the win in the eighth inning on an RBI single.
Adyson Baber pitched all eight innings, with 11 strikeouts.
Heights is 8-14 and host Taylor at 5:30 p.m. today.

Westfield overwhelmed by Orioles

Westfield dropped a Tuesday Hoosier Crossroads Conference game to Avon 17-8 at the Shamrocks’ field.
The Shamrocks scored their first run in the fourth inning; Avery Wagner singled in Lexi Martin. Westfield then added seven runs in the fifth inning. Parker hit an RBI double, Reghan Oland tripled in a run, then Sara Harmeyer smacked a two-run home run. Alexis McClure singled in one run, then Avery Parker sent a two-RBI hit into right field.
Parker finished the game 4-for-5 at the plate with two doubles. Caroline Maymon also hit a double.
The Shamrocks are 7-16 and host McCutcheon at 6 p.m. tonight for their regular-season finale.
