Fishers opened its season Monday with a 5-2 win at Kokomo.
The Tigers scored three runs in the second inning after Hannah Abbott hit a bases-loaded double. Fishers then added one run each in the fourth and seventh innings. Seven different players had at least one hit for Fishers.
Kamara Walker pitched three innings for the Tigers, with one strikeout and one walk against four hits. Kate Murray finished the game by throwing the last four innings, tossing seven strikeouts and allowing one walk.
A boxscore was not available at press time.
Fishers hosts Lawrence Central this afternoon.
Huskies overwhelmed by Trojans in opener
Hamilton Heights fell in its season-opening game Monday to Bishop Chatard, 17-1 in six innings.
The Huskies scored their run in the third inning, when Lily Roush doubled in Faith Hittle. Roush had both of Heights’ two hits.
Roush pitched five innings, striking out six.
The Huskies play this afternoon at Frankton.

Lebanon runs past ‘Hawks
Sheridan dropped its opener on Monday, falling to Lebanon 13-1 in a six-inning game at Grand Park.
The Tigers scored nine runs in the first two innings to take control of the game early. The Blackhawks scored their lone run in the sixth inning, when Makayla Clark hit a double to score Taylor Bates.
Sheridan plays this afternoon at North Montgomery.
