Noblesville got its busy week started off right Monday with a visit from the Yorktown Tigers. The Tigers posed quite a test to keep the Millers honest, but Noblesville overcame a tie score for an 8-5 home victory.
Yorktown got the first run on the board in the top of the first, but it wouldn’t take long until Noblesville struck back.
Gabby Fowler got the Millers on the board in the bottom of the third with a line drive to left that scored both Reis Sjoholm and Delaney Rundle for a 2-1 lead.
The Tigers clawed back to score two each in the fourth and fifth innings that jumped them ahead of the Millers for a short-lived 5-2 lead.
Mack Harvey drove in Sjoholm in the bottom of the fifth to cut Yorktown’s lead to 5-3.
Addi Emmerson lined a single of her own to score Duvall that made it 5-4. Emmerson tied it at 5-5 on a Haley Schatko single to center.
The Millers kept it rolling in the sixth and added a few more. Taylor Thompson provided the game-winning hit with a three-run home run, plating herself, Rundle and Fowler for an 8-5 win.

For the second night in a row, Noblesville played at home at Miller Park. After a back-and-forth HCC tilt, Brownsburg was able to outlast the Millers, 10-7.
The Bulldogs led 2-0 early on a two-run grounder to left.
Noblesville took their only lead of the game on a three-run home run lofted to left by Gabby Fowler, driving in Rundle and Sjoholm to go up 3-2.
Brownsburg tied it and grabbed the lead in the top of the fourth, 4-3 and didn’t give it back to the Millers.
The visitors padded their lead in the top of the sixth and the Millers added another in the bottom for a 5-4 Bulldog lead heading into the seventh.
Two singles, a walk and a three-run home run proved to be the dagger for Brownsburg in the top of the seventh to take a 10-4 advantage.
The Millers gave it one last-ditch effort in the home half. For the second night in a row, Taylor Thompson launched a three-run long ball, sending home Harvey and Fowler. That would be all the Bulldogs yielded, clinging to a 10-7 road win on Tuesday.
Noblesville drops to 11-9-1 overall and 3-3 in HCC action. The Millers continue their week tonight at Roncalli (18-2-1) at 6 p.m. and finish off the week with a Saturday doubleheader at Leo (18-1) starting at 11 a.m.
