Braden Smith has helped the Purdue men’s basketball team soar to new heights over the past two years, and he made some history during the Boilermakers’ 105-96 overtime win over Northwestern Wednesday. Smith dished out 16 assists during the game, which is the second-most by a Purdue player in school history, and the most in the last 49 years. In addition, Smith’s 16 assists are the fourth-most by a player across the country this season.
Smith is a Westfield graduate and the 2021 Indiana Mr. Basketball. Smith has 164 assists for the season, and is averaging 12.1 points 5.4 rebounds per contest.
