The Hoosier Crossroads Conference announced its spring Athletes of the Year on Friday, June 12. This year, six of the seven honorees were from Hamilton County.

Baseball – Aiden Reynolds, Noblesville

Noblesville Senior Aiden Reynolds has been voted by the HCC coaches as the Athlete of the Year for  baseball.

Reynolds was a four-year starter at shortstop for the Millers and a three-time All HCC First Team selection. During his career he played on three HCC championship  teams and was a part of 43 HCC victories.

As a senior, Reynolds led the HCC champion Millers in almost all offensive categories including batting  average (.411), runs scored (30), home runs (5),  doubles (9) and RBIs (25). In addition, he stole 14 bases and had a .505 on-base percentage.

Reynolds was honored as the District K Player of the Year and named to the North/South All Star team.

Noblesville coach Justin Keever said, “Aiden’s exploits on the field are obvious, but what many don’t see is how elite his commitment is in his preparation behind the scenes and his sincere investment in his teammates! Aiden will go down as an all-time Millerball great!”

Reynolds will continue his education and baseball career at Indiana University.

Boys golf – Tyler Marucci, Noblesville

Noblesville senior Tyler Marucci has been named the HCC boys golf Athlete of the Year by the HCC head coaches.

Marucci was a four-year letterman for the Millers and  holds the school 18-hole record shooting a 65 at the Winchester Invitational (seven under par). As a senior he was named All-HCC after firing a one under par, which was good for second place at the HCC championship meet at Bear Slide.

Marucci was an integral part of two sectional and one regional team championship. He was part of two state finalist teams who finished in in the top four.

Coach Gary Deakyne said, “Tyler has had a great career and a phenomenal senior season.  He is a great player but more importantly, he is one of the nicest and most respectful young men I have had the opportunity to coach in my 19 years.”

Marucci will continue his education and golf career at Indiana Wesleyan.

Boys volleyball – Ethan Luenemann, Fishers

Senior Ethan Luenemann of Fishers has been  named the boys volleyball Athlete of the Year  by the volleyball coaches of the HCC. The 6-foot-3 middle blocker had an outstanding  senior year for the HCC co-champion Tigers. Offensively he finished with 312 kills, 15 assists  and 23 aces. He also recorded 39 blocks, 166 digs and 334 service receptions.

Luenemann’s Tigers claimed the HCC championship last year and shared the title with Franklin Central this year.

Coach Jordan Guler said, “Ethan was a force to be reckoned with on the court this season and an incredibly important leader for our team. As one of our captains, he brought energy and intensity every day, consistently using his voice to challenge and motivate the players around him.”
