Silvin Maginn

March 29, 1937 – September 12, 2022

Silvin Maginn, 85, Indianapolis, passed away on Monday, September 12, 2022. He was born on March 29, 1937, to Jerome and Mary (Litzelman) Maginn in Newton, Ill.

Silvin proudly served his country in the United States Army. He received an associate’s degree from IUPUI and worked as a draftsman for RCA for 38 years. Silvin was very strong in his faith and was a member of Holy Spirit Parish at Geist Catholic Church. He was a big Notre Dame fan and enjoyed playing cards. Silvin loved being athletic, liked biking and walking, and was an avid golfer. Most of all, he loved his family.

Silvin is survived by his wife of 62 years, Jo Maginn; son, Bruce Maginn (Karen); daughter, Liz King (fiancé, Scott Jones); siblings, Evelyn Parisot, Joe Maginn (Mary Lu), and Rose Wetzel; five grandchildren, Tyler King, Erica Maginn-Doss (Matt), Abby King (fiancé, Dušan Ćurčić), Jessica Maginn, and Isabella Maginn; and three great-grandchildren, Christian, Teagan, and Parker Doss.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Anita Busald, Harry Maginn, Ruth Fear, Mary Weber, and Don Maginn; infant sister, Marilyn Maginn; and his sister-in-law, Marilyn Maginn.

Visitation will be from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m., with services at 2:30 p.m., on Friday, September 16, 2022, at Holy Spirit Parish at Geist Catholic Church, 10350 Glaser Way, Fishers. Rev. Dale Ehrman will officiate. Entombment with military honors will follow at Our Lady of Peace Cemetery in Indianapolis.
