According to the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Department, a new telephone scam is making its rounds across Hamilton County.
This new scam will likely inform you that you have missed a federal court date or an appointment for a handwriting analysis. These scammers are claiming to be calling on behalf of HCSO’s own Captain of Investigations Scott McKinney.
Captain McKinney has not authorized these calls and states that his name and position are being used for this scam. This scam is said to have originated from outside of the United States.
