The Sheridan girls basketball game blasted through its regular-season and Hoosier Heartland Conference finale on Friday, beating Taylor 79-24 in the first game of a conference doubleheader at Larry Hobbs Hall.
The Blackhawks were in control from the beginning, leading 25-2 after one quarter and 53-8 at halftime. Kenzie Garner authored a triple-double, dishing out 17 assists and collecting 16 rebounds to go with 11 points. Sadie Timme earned a double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds; she also dished out four assists.
Five Sheridan players reached double figures. Cecilia Timme had 16 points, Mac Smith scored 11 and Nova Cross added 10. Makaley Terry and Cecilia Timme both had four rebounds.
The Sheridan girls finished conference play 6-2 and the regular season 17-5. They play Class 2A Sectional 43 host Park Tudor next Friday in the semifinals of that site.
Sheridan’s boys dropped a tough game 46-45 in the second game of the doubleheader. Caleb Wright scored 10 points for the Blackhawks, with Damon Winston and Trey Page both scoring nine.
Winston pulled six rebounds, with Tyler Garner collecting five. Trent DeCraene handed out six assists.
The ‘Hawks are 3-3 in the conference and 8-5 overall and play tonight at Covenant Christian.
