Sheridan football coach Larry “Bud” Wright was named the Indianapolis Colts/NFL Coach of the Week on Tuesday.
Wright received the honor after his Blackhawks team beat Clinton Central 57-0 in a home game last Friday. The victory was the 450th for Wright, who is already the winningest coach in Indiana high school football.
The Coach of the Week award is given to an Indiana high school football coach during the season. Each coach will receive a commemorative plaque at the end of the season, along with a $1,000 donation from the NFL Foundation. Corteva Agriscience, the presenting sponsor of the Coach of the Week award, will also contribute another $1,000 to the school’s athletic fund.
