Sheridan Middle School track & field excels in post-season

On Saturday, May 9, the Sheridan Middle School track and field teams competed in the Hoosier Heartland Conference (HHC) meet. While there, they delivered an impressive performance with multiple podium finishes against tough competition.

The girls’ team snagged two championships in relay events. The 4×100-meter relay team of Aubrey Sterling, Jade Edmonds, Kenzie Zuill, and Jaidyn Gidman claimed first place with an impressive time of 56.43 seconds. The 4×400-meter relay team of Brynn Wright, Aubrey Sterling, Briella Roberts, and Lacey Lenseigne also earned a first-place finish with an impressive 4:48.73.

On the individual level, Jaidyn Gidman added two individual first-place finishes to Sheridan’s success. She won both the 100-meter dash with a 14.10 and the 200-meter dash with a 29.6. Through all of these successes, the girls’ team was able to finish third overall.

For the boys’ team, Tommy Rusk earned first place in the 800-meter run with a highly impressive finish of 2:24.78. The boys’ team was able to secure a second-place finish overall.
