Sheridan’s boys basketball team dropped an away game to Southmont 59-43 on Saturday.
The Mounties led 16-10 after one quarter and 31-23 at halftime, then held the Blackhawks to five points in the third period to take further control of the game.
Caleb Wright led Sheridan with 16 points, including four 3-pointers, while Carsen Aleman added 10 points. Parker Williams had six rebounds, Trent DeCraene dished out four assists and Wright made four steals.
The Blackhawks are 1-1 and host Clinton Prairie on Friday for a Hoosier Heartland Conference girls-boys doubleheader.
