Dear Editor:

There has never been a more exciting time to live in the community of Sheridan.

Sheridan Community Recreation, Inc. (SCRI) has worked very hard to continue to build a relationship with our community and especially our school system. We are able to continue to offer our extracurricular programs to the community because of our relationship with SCS and their commitment to helping all our athletic teams. Over the last several years, we have appreciated the way in which the district has worked to assist our community, to prepare for the future and to do so in a fiscally sound manner.

We understand that the community is preparing for a bright future, and we are all excited about the growth that is coming our way. We, like many of you, hope to work together with everyone to plan for this future in a tactful and collaborative manner. One of the most important pillars in maintaining a successful future for our student athletes is assisting our schools to continue to recruit and maintain the best teachers and coaches possible. A fiscally strong school system is paramount to the foundation of all our successes. This will not only benefit our future athletes, but ALL of our students, families, businesses, and entire community.

We hope you will continue to support our schools and allow them to focus on preparing for the future in joining us in voting “YES” for the district referendum on Nov. 7. We believe the district is doing everything they can to provide the best possible school experience for all our students, and we can support this effort with a positive vote in November.
