The second annual She L.E.A.D.S. conference will take place on Thursday, March 5, at 502 East Event Centre in Carmel, offering a two-part experience focused on leadership development, mentorship, and career exploration.
Presented by Majestic Care and hosted by Carmel Mayor Sue Finkam, the conference is designed to support professional women while introducing middle school girls to future career paths and leadership opportunities.
Following a strong inaugural year, She L.E.A.D.S. continues to grow as a multi-generational initiative centered on Leadership, Empowerment, Advancement, Development, and Service, with this year’s program featuring an interactive keynote and expanded professional development opportunities for learning, mentorship, and confidence-building.

“She L.E.A.D.S. is about women leading with purpose and building networks to help them move forward,” Finkam said. “When women can hear honest stories, ask real questions, and connect with one another, they leave with practical takeaways and stronger relationships. And when girls see leadership and different career opportunities up close, it changes how they see themselves and what they believe they can pursue.”
The conference is structured in two segments:
Women’s Segment
11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Attendees will participate in professional development opportunities, including a keynote address by a local business owner and personal stylist, panel discussions with community and business leaders and networking sessions.
The keynote, “Styled for Purpose: Confidence, Identity, and the Power of an Intentional Presence,” will be delivered by Michele Dieckmeyer, founder of Fringe & Form. Dieckmeyer will explore the connection between confidence, personal presence, and leadership, drawing from her background in healthcare and her work helping women build intentional, professional wardrobes. Prizes and giveaways will be awarded.
Middle School Girls’ Segment
4 to 6:30 p.m.
This session features hands-on demonstrations highlighting a range of career paths, including construction, science, technology, digital creation, medicine, and city infrastructure. Students will rotate through short, interactive experiences designed to spark curiosity and build confidence. The session concludes with a welcome from Mayor Finkam and an interactive mini-workshop focused on confidence, self-presentation, and professional readiness.
Registration is now open. Those who register by Tuesday, Feb. 10 will be entered in a drawing for a chance to win a $250 gift card and a personal styling session at Fringe & Form, a premier women’s clothing boutique in Carmel.
