If criminal justice is something you plan on pursuing, the Jen Grillo Memorial/Fishers Police Corps Scholarship competition should be of interest to you. A $1,500 scholarship is available to students at either Fishers High School or HSE High School.
The student must have a minimum grade point average of 2.5, be accepted to a college or university, and seek to attend full-time. The student must also demonstrate school leadership, a commitment to his or her community, and a desire to contribute to society.

Here are some additional requirements for all applicants:
- Complete a typed or legible handwritten essay indicating why he or she has chosen a law enforcement-related career, and how they specifically plan to meet that goal. The essay must be at least 500 words.
- Submit two letters of recommendation. One letter must be from a teacher; the other may be from a school counselor, coach, or community leader. The letters of recommendation must be submitted in a sealed envelope, and the back of the envelope must be signed by the author of the recommendation.
- Submit a student transcript. A complete applicant package must include the application, the 500-word (minimum) essay, the student transcript, and letters of recommendation.

The application must be in by 4 p.m. on March 29. Any incomplete package will disqualify a submission.
The Corps Board will review all applications and essays. Applicants will be notified of their status, and if selected as a finalist, will be contacted for an interview.
