Ho, ho, ho! This week the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office (HSCO) Community Foundation helped save Christmas for 40 children around Hamilton County. Santa’s little helpers shopped for gifts at Target and collected warm winter coats from Old Navy. HCSO staff filled personalized stockings and wrapped the presents.
The next step involved the Sheriff’s Christmas Express! Santa Claus, Deputy Justice (mascot), patrol deputies, correctional officers, and family members loaded large red bags full of toys into police vehicles. The jolly group hand delivered the gifts on the front doorsteps of the participating families. When the neighbors saw the twinkling red and blue lights, many more children gathered in the streets to receive books and stuffed animals.
A special thank you goes out to the Citizens Academy Alumni Association, Synergize 4:30 Meet-Up, Target, Old Navy, Cooper House, Youth Assistance and many contributions from the community for helping to make this event another huge success.
