Lace up your sneakers, grab your costume, and join the Carmel Education Foundation (CEF) for the 17th annual Ghosts and Goblins 1M/5K Run/Walk on Saturday, Oct. 25 at Carmel High School, 520 E. Main St.

The morning begins at 8 a.m. with team photos, music, and a lively warm-up before the 1M race at 9 a.m. and the 5K at 9:10 a.m.

New this year: the former 2K is now a one-mile course, designed for a smoother route, improved safety, and an even more enjoyable experience. Both the 1M and 5K are timed with start/finish at Carmel High School, winding through nearby neighborhoods. Strollers are welcome; for safety, pets are not allowed. Costumes are encouraged; just make sure you can see where you’re going.

“This race is one of Carmel Education Foundation’s signature events and a true community celebration,” CEF CEO Jennifer Penix said. “It’s more than a morning of fun, creativity, and exercise – it fuels our ability to bring innovation, resources, and meaningful programs to Carmel Clay Schools.”

Proceeds benefit CEF programs including Great Idea Grants for educators and students, scholarships for middle schoolers and graduates, and district-wide initiatives such as this year’s new partnership with the Joseph Maley Foundation to promote acceptance, respect, and inclusion across all 15 Carmel Clay schools.
