The Hamilton Southeastern swim teams swept a dual meet at Avon Tuesday.
The Royals girls team sailed to a 136-49 victory, winning seven individual events and all three relays. Sophomore Audrey Crawford was first in the 200 and 500 freestyles. Others who were victorious in individual races were senior Kennedy Fisher in the individual medley, senior Hannah Justice in diving, junior Lauren Bergman in the butterfly, senior Amelia Vicory in the 100 free and sophomore Eloise Harrison in the breaststroke.
Crawford, junior Katelyn Kertin, senior Kaleigh Stivers and junior Ash Saple teamed up to win the medley relay. Saple joined junior Anna Stolle, Fisher and Vicory for a win in the 200 free relay, and Bergman, Fisher, Izzy Waren and Stolle won the 400 free relay. Sophomore Brielle Moore had a big time drop in the 50 free and junior Reese Walts had a strong diving night. Other good performances came from Vicory in the 200 free, Waren in the 500 free and sophomore Julia Kiley, who swam a season-best time in the breaststroke.
Southeastern’s boys team won 110-75. Freshman Jihoon Jung won the 200 free with a time of 1:51.68, senior Matt Truxall took the IM in 2:04.33, and junior Eli Pache was first in the breaststroke, clocking in at 1:04.23. The Royals went 1-2-3 in the breaststroke, with junior Chouchi Ding second and freshman Collin Huston third.
Southeastern also swept the diving, with Troy Borrero first (194 points), junior Kaegan Johnson second (183 points) and junior Joey Schlabach third (118 points). Freshman Derek Robinson, Pache, junior Charlie Rogers and senior Noah Haines teamed up to win the 200 free relay in 1:35.98.
Jung placed second in the butterfly, just out-touched by Avon senior Maverick Bray, who placed ninth in that event in last year’s state finals in that event. Other good performances came from senior Drew Hershman in the 200 free, senior Ryan Harrison in the IM and sophomore Ian Ross in the 50 free.
