The Hamilton Southeastern softball team beat Westfield 3-0 in a Hoosier Crossroads Conference and all-county softball game last Thursday at the Shamrocks’ field.
The Royals got on the board in the first inning when Addy Justice got home on an error. Alex Kiemeyer hit a fourth-inning home run to put Southeastern up 2-0, then Sayla Stock singled in Chloe Smith for a sixth inning run.
Kiemeyer had two hits in total. Grace Swedarsky pitched a complete game, striking out 15 against two hits. Makayla Watson and Cara Snedeker each had one hit for the Shamrocks. Chloe Tanner also pitched a complete game, tossing 17 strikeouts.
Southeastern is 5-1 in HCC play and 17-4 overall. The Royals finish HCC play Tuesday by hosting Franklin Central, then host Ben Davis on Thursday before playing Friday at Yorktown.
Westfield fell to Mooresville 5-3 last Saturday. The Shamrocks scored all three of their runs in the seventh inning: Makayla Watson singled in Grace Feltz and Annika Lawrence, then Cara Snedeker batted in Watson, who finished the game with two hits. Reese Mahannah hit a double.
Westfield is 1-5 in the conference and 10-11 overall. The Rocks host Western on Monday, then go on the road to play at Avon Tuesday for their HCC finale, then travel to McCutcheon Thursday.

Noblesville also won an all-county game last Thursday, beating Carmel 4-3 at the Millers’ field.
Noblesville scored two runs in the first inning. Bella Hughes singled in Delaney Rundle for the first run, then was sent home by Reese Newsom’s RBI fielder’s choice.
The Greyhounds got a run back in the fourth inning. Jayden Kleiner led off with a double, then scored on Mia Fleming’s RBI groundout. But Newsom struck again in the fifth inning with a two-run single to left field that scored Nevaeh Nash and Rundle.
Carmel scored two runs in the seventh inning: Katherine Smith doubled in Emily Smith, who was courtesy running for Fleming. Emily Smith then came back in to bat and hit a sacrifice fly to score Winni Owens. But Emme Yee got a strikeout to finish the game.
Rundle totaled two hits, while Addi Emmerson and Mack Harvey both hit a double. Lulu Van Beek went six and two-thirds innings for the win, striking out six. Yee relieved her to get the final strikeout. Kleiner hit two doubles for the Greyhounds, while Chelsea Bennett pitched a complete game and struck out six.
The Millers are 13-9 and travel to McCutcheon Monday, then play Hoosier Crossroads Conference games against Zionsville Tuesday and at Brownsburg Wednesday.
Carmel dropped two games last Saturday. The Greyhounds fell to Crown Point 4-2 in their first game: Paxton Law scored on a wild pitch in the fourth inning, then Jayden Kleiner singled Alex Longstreth home in the fifth inning.
Kleiner and Law both had two hits, while Fleming hit a double. Gracyn Erickson pitched a complete game, striking out nine.
In its second game, Carmel lost 12-5 to Munster. The Hounds scored four runs in the first inning, starting with a three-run home run by Kleiner. Longstreth and Ellie Goddard also scored. Law later got home on a wild pitch.
Carmel led 4-2 after the first inning, but the Mustangs put up four runs in the top of the third inning and held the lead from there. The Greyhounds got one more run in the bottom of the third; Katherine Smith tripled in Law.
Kleiner and Law both had two hits, with Law and Grace Sharp each hitting a double.
Carmel is 8-18 and plays away games Monday at Harrison and Tuesday at Shelbyville before hosting Greenfield-Central on Thursday.
