Royals pull away from Bulldogs

Hamilton Southeastern’s girls won a top-10 Hoosier Crossroads Conference battle at Brownsburg on Tuesday, beating the Bulldogs 57-48.

The Class 4A No. 3 Royals led 15-14 after one quarter, with 4A No. 9 Brownsburg coming back to lead 28-27 at halftime. But Southeastern took control in the third period, outscoring the Bulldogs 15-7 for a 42-35 third-quarter advantage.

Kennedy Holman led the Royals with 17 points and nine rebounds; she also blocked two shots. Kayla Stidham added 13 points and seven rebounds. Eevey Tolliver collected five rebounds.

Southeastern is 2-0 in conference play and 6-1 overall. The Royals host Noblesville next Wednesday.
