Hamilton Southeastern picked up a Hoosier Crossroads Conference win on the road Thursday, beating Franklin Central 58-46.
The Royals led 17-7 after one quarter, with Braeden Totten and Nathaniel Orr scoring the first 15 points for Southeastern. Jack Jacobs finished the quarter on a reverse layup from Orr, one of his four assists.
The Royals led 32-16 in the second quarter before the Flashes went on a 10-0 run, cutting HSE’s lead to 32-26 by halftime. Franklin Central got within three points during the second half, but the Royals were able to hang on for the win, outscoring the Flashes 26-20 during the half.
Totten led the scoring with 20 points, including three 3-pointers, while Orr had 19 points. Donovan Hamilton collected six rebounds, with Orr pulling five. Michael Griffith dished out four assists.
Southeastern is 2-4 in the conference and 13-6 overall. The Royals host Carmel next Friday (Feb. 9).
